Notes on the archive

20 June 2026 is the first canonical record. It keeps its own permanent address and is counted in the canonical total.
21 June 2026 and 22 June 2026 are declared archive gaps: the required noon snapshot anchor was unavailable, so those dates were left blank rather than backfilled. They are printed as gaps rather than closed up, and nothing is interpolated across them.
Canonical records run without interruption from 29 August 2026 onward — that is where the continuous run starts, and it is neither where the benchmark starts nor the first canonical record, which is earlier.
The records of 17 June 2026 to 19 June 2026 are bootstrap records, captured during Stable Tape initialization. They remain permanently published and reachable, but they are not part of the canonical daily series. Bootstrap record. No canonical integrity block is present for this record.

Opening, citing and downloading a record

Every record has a permanent address of the form /tape/2026-09-22. The address is issued once and is never reassigned, so a link made today resolves to the same frozen figures indefinitely.
Each record page carries its own citation forms — a short reference, a footnote and a data note — alongside its permanent address, its integrity hash where one exists, and the record itself as JSON.
The archive summary this index is compiled from is published at /data/tape-history.json. It carries one entry per retained record and is regenerated from the frozen records, never edited by hand.
