A daily benchmark takes time and money. Support helps Stable Tape publish every day and keep access free. Recognition for that support sits around the distribution, never inside the evidence.

02 What support can and cannot do

Support sustains the operation. Recognition sits around the distribution.

An organisation can help sustain Stable Tape as a working publication. What support may never do is attach a name to the evidence, or influence the decisions behind it.

  • The Daily Tape and its evidenceNot open to support. The daily reading, the frozen dated records, their sources, their hashes and their provenance carry no supporter identity of any kind.
  • What Stable Tape concludesNot open to support. Classifications, findings, wording, timing, corrections, withdrawals and publication decisions are not supporter benefits and are never subject to supporter approval.
  • New on the Tape entries and cardsNot open to support. Each entry, its share card and the dated record it links to carry no supporter identity of any kind, permanently.
  • Stable Briefing and New on the Tape as publicationsConsidered individually, subject to conflict and independence review. These are distribution surfaces over readings that are already published. Restrained supporter recognition may be agreed in one place at the foot of the New on the Tape page, in one line on Stable Briefing and in monthly or annual New on the Tape publications. No supporter relationship is currently active, and no supporter identity appears on any published surface today.

Support the distribution around the evidence, never the evidence itself.

03 What support helps sustain

Where the money goes

Support helps pay for the work behind the publication:

  • Daily publication
  • Preserving past evidence
  • Provider licences
  • Continuity and retention systems
  • Free public and machine access
  • Independent checks
  • Time to do the work properly

Support is for Stable Tape as a whole, or for an individually approved editorial or publication programme such as New on the Tape, never a particular dataset, source, reading, record, entity, entry or report.

Sustaining the work is not the same as appearing beside its output. Support can pay for the operation as a whole. Public recognition of a supporter appears only at the foot of the New on the Tape page, on Stable Briefing and in New on the Tape publications.

04 What a supporter receives

What is included

Recognition appears at the foot of the New on the Tape page, on Stable Briefing and in New on the Tape publications, in a restrained form agreed in advance. Supporter relationships are considered individually, subject to conflict and independence review, and no supporter relationship is currently active. Any recognition remains separate from methodology, findings, publication and corrections. Support also includes:

  • Post-publication conversationsDiscuss work once it is public. There are no private or advance findings.
  • Methodology discussionComment at the same time and on the same terms as other stakeholders.
  • A direct corrections contactA named contact for possible factual errors.

A supporter of Stable Tape as a whole, or of an approved publication such as New on the Tape, may be named with a title such as Founding Origin Partner or Founding Business Partner. These are commercial titles. They are not endorsements, certifications or official status.

05 What support cannot buy

What is not included

Support buys no place beside the record and no say in the work.

  • No name or logo beside a Daily Tape reading, dated record, citation or other evidence, on a Daily Tape, Close or Move share card, or on the preview image of a dated record.
  • No name or logo on a New on the Tape entry or share card.
  • No advance access, embargo or first look.
  • No priority, no different treatment of data and no different method for a supporter or anything linked to it.
  • No say over sources, methodology, classifications, findings, wording, corrections or withdrawals.
  • No category exclusivity, joint branding, “official partner” or “verified by” status.
  • No discounted, bundled or preferential data access.
  • No co-branded or commissioned research about entities Stable Tape measures.
  • No advance sight of a Stable Briefing edition before it is published.

There is no exception for share cards. New on the Tape cards stay free of any supporter name, in the same way as Daily Tape, Close and Move cards.

Stable Tape's classifications, findings, wording and publication decisions are not supporter benefits and are never subject to supporter approval.

A supporter's name, logo or other identifier never appears with a hash, provenance stamp, dated reading or citation.

06 Who can support

Who we can accept support from

Every candidate is screened for conflicts, including how the relationship would look to a reasonable reader.

Potentially eligible

  • Structurally neutral infrastructure
  • Infrastructure companies that help create and operate stablecoins
  • Business-services companies that serve stablecoin businesses
  • Professional services
  • Enterprise finance tooling
  • Public-interest and open-data funders

Excluded

  • Any organisation seeking to sponsor the factual treatment of itself or any linked asset
  • Blockchain ecosystems or foundations that Stable Tape measures
  • Data providers that Stable Tape uses or compares

Companies that also create or issue stablecoins

Qualifying infrastructure and business-services companies, including companies that create, operate or issue stablecoins, may be considered to support Stable Tape as a whole or an individually approved editorial or publication programme, subject to documented, object-specific conflicts review and disclosure. This is not blanket eligibility for every issuer, and it is not an exception for any named company.

  • Support recognition is never attached to the supporter's or a linked asset's Close, ODS, Move or dated record, original New on the Tape entry or card, entity record, certificate, citation, source evidence, Source Memory, methodology, or any indicator, assessment or research finding, whether published or not.
  • Only separately identified, approved corporate or editorial supporter surfaces may carry restrained, disclosed recognition.
  • A supporter has no influence over admission, evidence, sources, conclusions, timing, corrections or publication.
  • Data providers that Stable Tape uses or compares stay ineligible, and nobody can purchase an exception to the conflicts rule.
  • New on the Tape entries and share cards never carry a supporter, permanently. The partner listing on the New on the Tape page is off by default.
  • Company-wide recognition and separately sponsored publication inventory are not automatically bundled or double-sold.

When we measure a supporter

Some supporters, or assets linked to them, are things Stable Tape measures. They can still be considered, on these terms:

  • A supporter may be acknowledged only at page level, clearly separate from anything Stable Tape measures.
  • A supporter's name is never attached to its own reading, entry, record, card, citation, evidence or methodology, or to those of any asset linked to it.
  • Where Stable Tape measures a supporter or a linked asset, we say so openly rather than hiding the conflict.
  • Support brings no different treatment of data, no influence, no priority, no advance access and no different method.

No supporter gets around the conflict rule by paying more.

07 Data licensing is different

Data licensing is separate

A data licence is not sponsorship.

If you license data

A data customer is not named as a supporter and has no editorial role or influence. A licence buys no recognition on Stable Briefing or anywhere else.

If you support Stable Tape

Support includes no discount or preference on data rights. Licences are agreed separately.

08 Independence

Stable Tape makes the calls

We choose what to measure, which sources meet the published method, what to conclude, when to publish and when to correct or withdraw.

The full rule is in the published methodology.

Stable Tape is the first vertical in a broader Tape concept. Later verticals may carry their own supporters under the same rule, screened the same way. A supporter of one is not a supporter of another.

Previous support

Stable Tape previously received early micro-grant support from Superteam UK. Stable Tape remains independently operated and maintains independent methodology and editorial control. Superteam UK did not build Stable Tape and does not control the ODS formula, data inputs, source classifications, Daily Tape records, issuer rankings, chain distribution, currency breakdowns, or headline numbers.
